Song Review: Electric Love

Upbeat, catchy and memorable, Elena Ramona's electronic pop track is the perfect summer anthem. It is driven by a strong vocal melody, and a chorus that is impossible not to sing along to.

The chorus' lyrics 'And I can't get enough, of this electric love/you make my heart run wild, I'll go the extra mile' make great use of alliteration, typical of the pop genre. This makes it easy to sing along to, whilst retaining a fun rhythmic tempo. We hear recorded sounds of laughter and chatter in the opening, cementing the feeling of being out with friends having a good time.

This song reminds me of another of hers, called 'Neon Lights.' It also reminds me of 'Lean On' by Major Lazer (but faster paced) due to the EDM style and poignant female vocals. The commercial relevance of this track is solid, putting it in the same category as popular dance-pop tracks dominating the charts right now (such as Dua Lipa's 'New Rules').

The reverb on the vocals also works well, balancing it out with the simple yet nicely placed motif in the instrumental. The synths harmonize perfectly with the vocals without being too over-produced. Overall this is an enjoyable, easy-listening song that deserves radio airplay.
